WINDEMERE WINTER TREND REPORT
Some of you may remember our first trend report when we celebrated tangerine tango. Here we are two years later and still celebrating orange. Our newest variation of this happy color still has all of the vibrancy of Pantone’s 2012 celebrated color but it leans toward pink; Coral to be exact. This slight shift has made this color perfect for all seasons. Pair it will turquoise and robins egg for a slightly more coastal feel or mix it with gray or black for those who prefer a modern palette. Mixing it with other warm colors like pink and fuchsia create an artistic feel and adds instant “happy” to a room.
Pattern, Texture and Color
Like in all good design, dimension and texture play a large role in creating a space. When using color this rule becomes particularly important. Be sure to choose one color as the main focus in the room. Use tones that vary in their hue. Perhaps a dark persimmon velvet for the sofa, then use cool colors like grey or turquoise for the secondary color and mix in a floral or geometric that embraces the entire palette. Glamorous patterned velvets, painterly florals, paisley and Jacobean prints inspire this trend. Natural fibres such as cottons and linens keep things balanced.
No need to look further, this collection can complete the entire room. Patterned velvets, delightful cotton florals & geometric patterns are suitable for upholstery, drapery and bedding. In addition, these lovely novelty and ditsy patterns are equally as hardworking and well suited for dining and side chairs.
